The AirSticks combine the physicality of drumming with the unlimited possibilities of computer music, taking the practice of real-time electronic music to a new realm.
Using the latest in state of the art motion capture devices to track movement, Alon Ilsar and computer programmer Mark Havryliv have designed custom software to allow the triggering and manipulation of sounds and visuals by slashing and striking through the air.
Alongside the development of the AirSticks for professional and personal use, professional musicians are now invited to test and use the AirSticks in their practice. Alon and Mark are also developing consumer focused products. Future applications include instruments, apps and games, not only for professional drummers, but also for other musicians, vocalists, electronic producers, sound designers, visual artists and dancers of all abilities.
